Musical Theatre at Cordes Hall

A SAFE PAIR OF HANDS

FASBAT has now been running for 24 years. Choosing us for your child to learn and enjoy the aspects of performance is a choice that is experienced and safe. All our staff have different skills to bring to the company, all are full DBS checked and all have performed and worked professionally.

APOLLO  (SCHOOL YEARS 1,2&3)
Starting FASBAT at the age of five is a unique opportunity to begin developing a child’s creative abilities. Classes encourage confidence and growth through drama, movement and singing. Warm up games are a fun way to lose self consciousness and to have fun exploring new creative ideas.

ADELPHI (SCHOOL YEARS 3,4,5&6)
This age group are ready for a bigger challenge. Having found their feet, are ready to embrace more complex ideas which in turn lead to more accomplished performances. Drama games form the basis of the classes and pupils explore different aspects of theatrical production including musicals, plays, and physical theatre.

DOMINION (SCHOOL YEARS 7,8,9)
The classes for this age group are designed to explore the journey from childhood to teenage years. Musical theatre, contemporary theatre and Shakespeare all provide insights into the specific challenges facing this period. Pupils are all given the opportunity to devise and perform their own pieces drawing on their life experience. Classes are an opportunity for pupils to let off steam, have fun and develop their skills further in a supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere. Pupils also have an opportunity to become part of the show production team, for shows that they are not performing in, assisting backstage, front of house and learning sound in the theatre gallery.

PALLADIUM (SCHOOL YEARS 10 AND ABOVE)

This is a new class for the age group who are in school year 9 and over, although current pupils who have years of FASBAT experience will also be included.Pupils are encouraged to take a lead, to direct and maybe choreograph pieces for shows and showcases. As well as taking a lead in the show production team, if pupils so wish they will also be able to join the teaching team as a class assistant to gain valuable experience in leading others. We also encourage the enterprise side of theatre, supporting these young adults in producing their own shows.

ADULTS
Why should the children have all the fun! As a FASBAT adult you will be given the opportunity to sing like no-one’s listening, dance like no-one’s watching and act like no-one cares. No experience necessary and all abilities are welcome, the classes comprise of drama warm-ups, singing, movement, improvisation, mime and all aspects of theatrical performance.
